The loops are the forever loop and the repeat loop. The difference is that the forever one will go on forever while the repeated one goes as long as you tell it to.
The repeat loop because you can control how long you want it to go.
No it won't work bacuse the "forever loop!" part will only play for a second then the other forever loop will play forever.
Sprites know when to do stuff when you press a key that makes it do stuff or broadcast some words that can make the sprites communicate between each other.
The two codes are the same except one you press the space bar to make it work and the other you don't have to press anything it does it by its self.
